In parallel to the retrospective being held at the Musée Marmottan Monet, beginning in February, Réunion des musées nationaux-Grand Palais will be holding an exhibition on a brand new subject at the Musée du Luxembourg, concentrating on the final two decades of the artist’s life. Having settled in the village of Eragny-sur-Epte, he developed a kind of utopia that can be seen in both his painting and his political commitment. The exhibition includes not only moving landscapes of this pseudo farm, resolutely rustic and productive (as opposed to the colourful luxury of Giverny), which Pissarro immortalised through the seasons, but also paintings representing a multitude of personalities, painted in the studio and featuring the pastoral surroundings of Eragny.
Exhibition organized by the Réunion des musées nationaux - Grand Palais.
