In 2021, the Rmn Grand Palais and Fisheye created the first festival dedicated to artistic creation in augmented reality. Palais Augmenté was held at the Grand Palais Éphémère on 19 and 20 June. For two days, the monumental space of the Grand Palais Éphémère was transformed by five works in augmented reality, created for the occasion by five artists: Mélanie Courtinat, Lauren Moffatt, Mélodie Mousset, Manuel Rossner and Theo Triantafyllidis. This début programme invited the artists to showcase multiple possibilities in the perception of the real, and to challenge and bring a new sense of magic to our view of the world. Two schools - GOBELINS, l école de l image and the ECAL - l école cantonale d art de Lausanne were also involved and each presented a creation by their students. The public could enjoy these works by moving virtually through the space as they explored the Grand Palais Éphémère with their smartphone. This unique event was made possible thanks to the contribution of numerous partners: Orange, la RATP, Samsung, TikTok, Fabbula, Blinkl, the ECAL and GOBELINS.
