After a start to the year marked by the closure of cultural venues, sponsorship activities were able to resume and be rolled out off-site while the Grand Palais was being renovated.
The year began with an exceptional sponsorship by CHANEL, which supported the original project by choreographer Boris Charmatz. Danced behind closed doors in the empty Nave of the Grand Palais, La Ronde celebrated the closure of the building. For the opening of the Grand Palais Éphémère, Boris Charmatz then invited professionals and amateurs to dance, in May 2021. From September 2020 to April 2021, 20 CHANEL employees took part in some ten workshops led by the company [terrain]. CHANEL employees were offered a number of original benefits, adapted to public health constraints, including webinars with dancers, choreographers and art history experts, and filmed tours with commentary by the curators of the exhibitions. La Vallée Village continued to support the Rmn Grand Palais in an original way by sponsoring the exhibition Women Painters, 1780 1830 at the Musée du Luxembourg, as well as producing a new art event dedicated to women musicians entitled "Exceptionnelles", which was be free of charge and open to all on the evening of Night of the Museums, on 4 July 2021. This original programme was conceived as a musical journey through the works of women composers of different nationalities and periods, from Clara Schumann to Björk, bringing the work of exceptional artists into dialogue. The exhibition Anselm Kiefer. For Paul Celan, the inaugural exhibition presented by the Rmn Grand Palais at the Grand Palais Éphémère, was sponsored by KPMG and supported by Mr Sébastien Breteau.
The third edition of the Histoires d'art Solidarité programme, an engagement offer aimed at people who have recently arrived in France and are in a vulnerable situation, brought together 78 participants thanks to the support of the Orange Foundation and the La Poste corporate foundation, which has been involved since the first edition in 2019. Finally, 2021 saw the resumption of activities of the Club Entreprises outside the walls of the museum, at the Grand Palais Éphémère. In autumn, five gatherings were held at the Tour Auto, Art Paris, FIAC, Paris Photo and Biennale des Antiquaires.
