IMPLEMENTING THE 2021 2025 CSR STRATEGY Preparing the establishment s new Targets and Performance Contract (COP) for the 2021-2025 period helped lay the foundations for a strategy promoting sustainable development. Attached to the new COP, it is based on three key areas:
− Creating projects and products that take a sustainable approach
− Committing to a sustainable approach in the very way the institution operates
− Making the Grand Palais restoration exemplary and its project more environmentally-friendly
The establishment has committed to a collaborative approach in developing and implementing this strategy in an action plan built around priority issues for the 2022-2025 period. The actions conducted in 2021 already followed the strategy defined in this contract.
CREATING PROJECTS AND PRODUCTS THAT TAKE A SUSTAINABLE APPROACH
A committed programme The Rmn Grand Palais endeavours to create a cultural programme with universal appeal. It is also committed to pursuing diversity in defining and designing its programme. As such, since 2020 the programme at the Musée du Luxembourg has highlighted the role of women in art and culture. In 2021, the museum hosted two exhibitions showcasing the work of women artists: Women Painters. 1780 1830 in spring and Vivian Maier in autumn.
Exhibitions and events The opening of the Grand Palais Éphémère allowed the establishment to continue organising and hosting committed events. The International Wood Construction Forum, dedicated to biosourced construction, was held in July and demonstrated how the Grand Palais Éphémère could become the home of sustainable and environmentally-friendly initiatives that decarbonise the economy and society. This edition of the forum, which was subject to a life cycle assessment, featured an auditorium that could be entirely dismantled and reused, and furniture designed using recycled and upcycled materials. A terminal at the entrance to the forum allowed each visitor to offset their carbon footprint by buying trees to be planted in a dedicated area in the Grand Est region of France.
