The tour guides of the Rmn Grand Palais, art historians specialising in visitor engagement, facilitate the public s interaction by using their knowledge to explain the content of the exhibitions, while maintaining a dialogue with visitors. Around one hundred tour guides organise guided tours in some twenty of the institution's national partner museums. They work on exhibitions at the Musée du Luxembourg, the Musée du Louvre, the Château de Versailles, the Musée d Orsay and the Musée de l Orangerie, the Musée Marc Chagall and the Musée National de la Renaissance in Ecouen.
FOR ALL AUDIENCES Working for museums and their engagement policy, the tour guides tailor their offering to the requirements of all audiences, whether visiting individually or in a group, for leisure or with school, adults or children, those with disabilities, illnesses or with little access to culture. The Rmn Grand Palais tour guides are specially trained to welcome this diverse range of visitors and make the museum collections and art history accessible to them, while also ensuring that everyone has a good time.
DIVERSIFIED ENGAGEMENT PRACTICES The tour guides offer diversified engagement formats tailored to the requirements of all types of visitors, including traditional guided tours, immersive visits for young children, family tours, tours followed by educational workshops, sensory tours and presentations or lectures in the galleries. Drawing on this practical experience, they also help design educational resources for visitors, such as activity booklets for children, educational kits for teachers and tools to help families plan their visit. This work also takes place outside of museums, with interactive video conferences, bedside engagement in hospitals, engagement in schools or online conferences all offered by the teams.
