THE PROJECT IN 2021 Work on the roofs, which began in 2019, continued in 2021. This mainly involved structural reinforcement work, the painting of metal structures, the repair of zinc elements and the replacement of new glass roofs. Work on the roofs of the North-East Gallery was completed at the beginning of the year, while work on the roofs of the North Intermediate Building and the North-West Gallery was restarted and work began on the roofs of the Courbe Nord Gallery and the South Intermediate Building. Additional work is also being done on the roof of the Nave following the campaign in the 2000s. Its watertightness is therefore improved, due in particular to changes to the seals on the most horizontal rows of the glass roof. Safety has also been improved by the installation of smoke extraction frames under the top canopies, which should be completed in 2022.
